«Bergen Reads», 2013 installation

Bek and Bergen Public Library has collaborated on development of «Bergen Leser - Sammen!» («Bergen Reads - Together!»), an installation for reading aloud. Here citizens of Bergen and users of the library can contribute towards a collective reading of litterature for a web audience by means of a digital installation.

«Bergen Reads - Together!» is an installation in which you as a visitor at the Bergen Public Library can read passages from a book. The text (in Norwegian) is presented before you on a screen. The reading is recorded and filmed, joined with the preceding paragraphs read by others, and turned into a video book. The recordings are available online so that the public can follow the reading project, and ultimately see and hear the work as a digital version of the book.

First book out is RAIN by Stig Holmås. You'll find the installation at the Main Library, by the information desk in the 1. floor.

The «Bergen Reads - Together!» installation is supported by the National Library of Norway and Arts Council Norway.
